Mildred Grossman papers, 1929-1995

Collection contains photographs, professional and personal correspondence, diaries, daybooks, financial, medical, and legal documents, and extensive paperwork regarding her involvement in the lawsuit that reinstated the 33 teachers who had been fired by the state of New York due to suspected involvement in the Communist Party during the McCarthy era in the United States. Also included are legal papers and pamphlets written by her brother-in-law, Rafael Federman, and paperwork on a pension that her husband, Mark Berkowitz, a Holocaust survivor, was receiving from Germany.
